A century of faith.
A legacy of grace.
The story of The India Pentecostal Church of God is the story of ordinary men and women who trusted God’s Word, sought the power of the Holy Spirit, and gave their lives to share the gospel across India and around the globe.
From a prayer shed in Kumbanad to the ends of the earth.
In the early decades of the twentieth century, a profound hunger for spiritual renewal stirred across Central Travancore. A young schoolmaster named Pastor K.E. Abraham, convicted by the apostolic simplicity of the New Testament, resigned his teaching position to preach the full gospel of Jesus Christ without salary or earthly guarantees.
In 1924, amidst opposition and hardship, the first general gathering was convened in Kumbanad under a modest thatch shed. Believers gathered not around human organization, but around the living presence of Christ, the breaking of bread, and persistent prayer.
As the Holy Spirit touched hearts, hundreds were converted and baptized in water according to biblical conviction. Indigenous assemblies began springing up in neighboring villages, united solely by mutual love and apostolic doctrine.
Founding President and apostle of the Indian Pentecostal movement, who dedicated fifty years to pioneer evangelism, biblical literature, and pastoral training.
What we believe and teach.
The India Pentecostal Church of God stands upon the timeless, uncompromised truth of the Holy Scriptures. Our faith is expressed through these six foundational tenets:
The Authority of Scripture
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Holy Bible as the infallible Word of God and the final authority for all Christian faith, doctrine, and daily conduct.
2 Timothy 3:16–17The Triune God
We believe in one eternal God, creator and ruler of heaven and earth, eternally existing in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19 · 2 Corinthians 13:14Salvation by Grace
We believe that sinful humanity is saved solely through repentance and faith in the vicarious sacrifice and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, not by works.
Ephesians 2:8–9 · Titus 3:5Water Baptism & Communion
We believe in immersion baptism in water for repentant believers, and the weekly remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice through the Lord’s Supper until He comes.
Acts 2:38 · 1 Corinthians 11:23–26Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the distinct empowerment of the Holy Spirit for every believer, accompanied by the biblical evidence of speaking in other tongues and divine gifts.
Acts 1:8 · Acts 2:4The Blessed Hope
We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the imminent and visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and everlasting life in His presence.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 · Titus 2:13One hundred years of continuous mission.
